Being frequently confronted to furniture fragilized by time, the technic of vacuum based gluing and reconstitution was an obvious choice for us. Homogeneous repartition of glue, high precision placement of the different pieces : such are the main assets of this technic, which we also use to enable the deep penetration of filling substances into wormeaten parts. We use this method to restore marquetries because it enables us to obtain a perfectly level surface without having to use the technics of rubbing down which are always damageable to woods.   |
