In parallel, bronzes, keywork, leather and clockwork are restored before they are put back in place on the finished waxed or varnished piece of furniture. Traditional French varnish, filled and waxed finishing ("rempli ciré") or, in a few cases, synthetic varnish give furniture a good protection and restore its original brilliance.
